A. Ahmad Jamal, Lydia Burrell, Skeeter Davis, Jim Reeves, Louis Armstrong, Dinosaur Jr, Eddy Arnold – to name a few.

A. Fave album: In the Cool of the Day by Daniel Martin Moore. Fave song: “Diotima” by Krallice.
3. What inspired the transition from the frenetic Evil Urges to the fairly calm Circuital?
A. Recording environment: going from a proper studio in NYC to a makeshift space in Louisville. That church/gym has a very calm vibe.
4. Love the story behind you guys writing Circuital in a gym, please tell me it really happened that way?
A. It absolutely did. We would play basketball in-between takes and arranging tunes.
5. Do you have a favorite MMJ song to play live?
a. Fave song to play live is always changing. Lately it’s been “Butch Cassidy”. And believe it or not I never get tired of “One Big Holiday”.
6. All the other @americanexpress #UNSTAGED bands shot their webcast in big, shiny cities. Why your hometown Louisville?
A. The Palace Theatre is amazing & will add some magic of its own. Plus, hometown rekkid release show? YES.
7. Who made the @americanexpress UNSTAGED Trailer?
A. Our good pals Alex, Brandon & Dave from L’ville. And the enigmatic Hologram Man.
8. It was all kinds of awesome, can’t wait for the webcast. Why did you and the guys pick Todd Haynes to direct?
A. That fine gent is a visual mastermind. Been fun seeing what he’s envisioned for the project. #amexcircuital

A. Yeppers. Focusing on Circuital now. But there’s some plannin’ bein’ done. Some mixes cooking up.
